CAKE DECORATING DEMONSTRATION!
SCENES FROM OUR CAKE DECORATING EVENT
Evergreen's Bakery Manager Evelyn Clark say's that the November 20th pre-thanksgiving cake decorating demonstration at Evergreen Market's Goodness Sakes Bakery was a huge success. Customers and Evergreen's crew cake decorating specialists and customers had an opportunity to learn from one of the cake decorating industry's premier cake professionals. Delon Schmall and his technician Neils decorated a multitude of beautiful cakes and were available for questions and advice. Delon is a baking professional and a cake decorating spokesperson for Rich's bakery, supplier of many of Evergreen's cakes. In addition to the demonstration of cake decorating techniques and short-cuts, the two sampled many of the new frostings now available at Evergreen IGA to all who attended the store that day(the Coconut and carmel were this authors new favorites).
In addition to providing a great educational and decorating experience the two professionals showed us how to decorate cakes in the dark. Evergreen IGA and the Indian Valley experienced a four hour power failure. Reportedly limbs fell across power lines and darkened the Greenville community during most of the demonstration. The Store was able to switch to the back-up generator, and the two professional decorators good-naturedly trooped thru the afternoon in very limited lighting conditions. When Delon and Neils realized that it had been snowing during the entire demonstration the two beat a hasty retreat for home, promising to return when better weather prevailed.
